Helios (pronounced HEE-lee-Ose) frequently has to explain his name. Yes, his parents really named him after the Greek sun god… no pressure, though! His parents taught him that his personal power was infinite, and that we are the masters of his own destiny, creating our own reality with our thoughts. He’s always been very physical and his parents were wise enough to involve him in sports and challenging mental work to channel his energy. They taughtHelios to meditate, concentrate, breathe and focus his energy and effort. Since then, he has enjoyed many disciplines, especially weight training, yoga and meditation. As an adult, he came to yoga for relief from the pain of a few serious car accidents, and the stress of years in a high pressure sales environment. It worked, and he went on to become certified as a personal trainer in 2010, and to complete a power yoga teacher training in 2011, and an additional teacher training that fall. For new and experienced yogis, Helios aims to help practitioners find their strength, peace and freedom through breath and playful movement.
