From one idea, to one event in Denver with 30 yogis 7 years ago, to one of the fastest growing locally managed community + yoga celebrations in the U.S.

“Yoga Rocks the Park isn’t just a weekly event, it’s a movement to bring a sense of peace and joy to communities throughout our country.” – Erik Vienneau (Founder & CEO)

On a sunny weekend morning in Denver, Colorado seven years ago, the first Yoga Rocks the Park (YRP) event took place, bringing to life and inspiring a passionate movement.

Motivated by a mission to cultivate a sense of community, peace and joy for all beings, Erik Vienneau (Founder & CEO of YRP) and a group of friends ventured out to a park in Denver, hung a few prayer flags in the trees, and moved their yoga practice to the beautiful open skies of Colorado, to a soundtrack of live drums, surrounded by Mother Nature’s beauty and gifts. Erik and his yogi friends collected donations in support of a local nonprofit organization, which would become an integral part of our organization and philosophy.

Today, with a beloved, passionate team of 20+ locally-based Event Directors in cities throughout the U.S., we collectively celebrate our own communities and play together on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the summer with our friends (

sometimes 300-400 of them!). Each of our 20 event series was brought to its local community by a like-minded friend and supporter who shared Erik’s mission to cultivate a sense of peace and community, and is graciously supported in many beautiful ways by their own community.

Together with the entire YRP Community we are honored to donate 10% of net profits from tickets sales to national and local causes. We donate 5% to our National Seva Partner, Give Back Yoga Foundation, and an additional 5% is donated to our Local Seva Partners in each community. We sincerely thank and appreciate our community and Seva Partners for their continued efforts to change the world every day.
