The word “puja” comes from the ancient Sanskrit language and it means, “to manifest the highest merit” and “to adore”. In a puja, we sing mantras, make offerings and give praise to a particular universal energy that is represented in the form of a diety. This universal energy is an elemental piece of our own soul. In performing puja, we develop the qualities of the diety in ourselves and in our environment. Puja is a sweet devotional practice which is being offered to anyone who wishes to participate and/or observe.
