It has been a tremendous honor and joy for me to share this sacred yoga experience with others. I remember the first time I ever attended a yoga class. It felt as though I had finally come home after much searching. And since then, I have been blessed with many profound and divine experiences of body and soul. It is my goal to share that with you through yoga.

While I have studied with many teachers, my greatest teacher is the one inside. That is the teacher I hope to help awaken in each of you; your own inner Guru. I invite you on an adventure to your true self; a space where there are no limits placed on you by a hardened heart or a confined mind. Step and even leap into the unknown, a space where you will experience yourself as pure light, love, power and peace.

Mike

Mike Matsumura

Mike Matsumura
In March of 2002, Mike walked into a yoga center in the Lower Eastside of Manhattan wanting to get into an exercise class. That yoga center was Jivamukti Yoga Center. He didn't know exactly what he was getting himself into but he thought it would be a great place for light stretching and a workout. What the class had for him was nothing he had ever experienced in his life. At first, everyone just sat there and the yoga instructor started preaching some stuff that he didn't understand at all, and then the class started chanting the word "Om." He was confused and initially, he didn't like it at all. He didn't know anything about yoga, meditation, chanting, or spirituality. At first, he was turned off by this chanting and mediation stuff. He felt it was not his thing but kept doing it anyway. He tried to keep an open mind and then he started to understand it little by little. "If you allow yourself, you can learn anything and everything from anyone and everyone." That was the beginning of his Yogic Path. In 2004, Mike met his guru (teacher), Sri Dharma Mittra, with whom he studied in NYC at Dharma Yoga Center. Mike eventually became a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 500 hour advanced certified teacher in Dharma Yoga Level 1-3 and also became initiated as one of Sri Dharma Mittra's disciples right before he left NYC for Colorado Springs to be with his wife. Sri Dharma Mittra gave Mike the Sanskrit name "Sadhu Om," which means the righteous and holy. Mike is constantly continuing on his yogic journey, keeping his teachers and their teachings with him along the way. Mike currently teaches at Samadhi Center for Yoga and Pranava Yoga Center.

Since residing in Colorado, Mike has been very involved with the Colorado yoga community. He was one of the guest teachers for the events Spark The Fire in Denver and Yoga Rocks the Park in 2009. He is also participating in Yoga Rocks Mountain Fest '09 at Lyons, Colorado in August 21-23. Mike "Sadhu Om" Matsumura is the Co-Founder of Pranava Yoga Center in Colorado Springs. Mike enjoys helping everyone to find their own teacher inside their heart. Mike is also the ambassador for Manduka Yoga Mat.

Blair Vaughn
Blair Vaughn's style of yoga instruction flows with a creative energy that draws upon her playful spirit, contagious passion and dedicated focus. She has spent the last nine years training with notable teachers, like Seane Corn, to develop a practice that balances the fundamentals of yoga with personal growth through its benefits.

Vaughn was introduced to yoga in 1997 as part of her recovery process from a snowboarding accident in Lake Tahoe. Immediately after taking her first Hatha yoga class, she knew that this would become her path in life. After attending her first Yoga Journal Conference in 2004, Vaughn decided to study under Baron Baptiste and received her teacher training certification from him. The next year, she was accepted to study with David Life and Sharon Gannon, the founders of Jivamukti Yoga, which literally means "freedom of the soul." After completing this training, she decided to move to Denver in 2005 to become part of a larger yoga community and then completed the Yoga Works teacher training in 2007.

While living in Lake Tahoe, Vaughn traveled frequently to San Francisco to study with Seane Corn. The two developed an immediate connection and Corn has been a major inspiration and mentor ever since. In February 2009, Vaughn will joined Corn and several others on the Seva Challenge, a volunteer program where participants travel to Cambodia and partner with the Cambodia Children's Fund to work with local children living in poverty. Vaughn is currently engaged in the 2010 Seva Challenge supporting Uganda, Africa.

Erin Jamieson

Erin Jamieson
Erin felt a strong connection with the Samadhi community when she came to her first class here a few years ago. She has continued to practice, study, and teach in this beautiful space ever since. She completed her first teacher training here in 2007, and has since continued to deepen her studies to focus on pre- and post-natal yoga techniques. Erin has always held her yoga practice close to her through life's ebbs and flows, practicing power yoga when it was time to fit into her wedding dress (some Bikram in the final crunch!), adopting a more meditative, restorative practive through more calm or challenging times, and teaching and practicing prenatal yoga through her pregnancy. No matter the style she might be practicing on the mat, her approach to yoga is always based in creating an authentic connection with Spirit. Now, as a new Mom, Erin is rediscovering her personal practice while introducing her baby daughter to one of her favorite things in life - a dynamic and joyful yoga practice!

Beyond her knowledge and experience, Erin leads her classes with a zest for life and a bright, warm smile. She holds a deep conviction that living mindfully is the key to a happy, healthy life and the pathway toward a kinder world. With reverence and with delight, she invites you to come to the mat and find the yoga that best suits your life. Or better yet, discover the yoga that will transform your life into that which best suits your Spirit!

Mary Ann

Mary Ann Eagan

Mary Ann Eagan
Hi , my name is Mary Ann Eagan and I have been teaching yoga since 2004. After I received my 200 hour certification in classic hatha yoga I continued to study with many wonderful teachers such as Baron Baptiste, Rodney Yee, Ana Forrest, John Friend, Amy Weintrub and locally with Madhuri Martin.

Being a student in yoga with teachers like Rebecah Gayatri Zeigler has helped to me continue developing my own personal practice. It is important to have your own practice as you share the knowledge with others.

Yoga for me is a contemplative experience and allows me to connect more fully with my concept of God. I appreciate the breathwork, chanting and the asana practice. Yoga is a never ending process of growing and learning from the inside out.

In my other hours I enjoy spending quality time with my niece, Saige and my nephew Aidan and all my family which includes my biological family and my extended family of friends and relatives throughout the world. Being an instrument of God's work is my calling as a person and professional clinical social worker.

Thank you Samadhi for the opportunity to share with others.
Elie

Elie Johnson

Elie Johnson
Perhaps partly because she is a stay-at-home mom with three children, ages eight through one, Elie invites her students to experience yoga with a child-like eagerness and curiosity. A graduate of the Samadhi Yoga teacher training program, Elie believes yoga is both sacred and an invitation to play. Although discipline and attention to detail certainly can enhance the yoga experience, she believes we can sometimes take ourselves too seriously and guards against that happening in her classes. She constantly reminds students of the importance of breath, invites communion in that sacred place of oneness, God-consciousness, Samadhi – but be prepared to laugh, rediscover your inner child. Elie's goal is that her students leave class relaxed, grounded, smiling more, frowning less and better able to enjoy the power and peace of their own light and more determined to share that light and warmth with someone else, off the mat. She is honored to be among an amazing group of teachers at Samadhi. Elie teaches vinyasa, pre-natal and mommy and me.

Jayanti

Jayanti
Yoga is a never ending journey so to say I am an international teacher sounds much more glamourous than it really is. Our spiritual awakening happens in Divine time and where we allow it to take us is our choice. Yoga is so vast yet everyone fits perfectly. That is way our paths look so different. I teach yoga asana and do daily sadhana and meditation and do regular pujas, but I carry with me, the heart of a bhakti yogi. I play harmonium and sing and this is my deepest desire. It is said that Bhakti is the shortcut to God and for me, the fastest way to return to my true nature is without question how I want to live. Yoga delivers us back to love and back to "One". My greatest honor is to sing such sacred words and share it with others.

Leah Pearson

Leah Pearson

Leah Pearson
Leah is an Anusara-Inspired teacher whose love of yoga began 10 years ago when she took a class in Boulder and noticed that after the class and for the rest of that day she felt more enlivened. Since then Leah found herself practicing yoga and attending yoga workshops more and more. The reconciliation of seemingly opposing energies in yoga practice (such as discipline and surrender) opened Leah to a world of previously unseen creativity and expansive potential that brings her wonderment to this day!

In 2005 Leah became certified to teach yoga with the desire to bring the potent teachings of yoga to others so that they could join her on the journey to discover more optimal health, possibility and profound appreciation for the fullness of life.

Leah delivers safe, skillful, and fun classes in the Anusara method. Her classes blend scientific alignment principles, and themes that affirm inherent goodness and provoke inquiry into the heart. She sees yoga practice as a valuable way to tap into the deep interconnection between everything and inspire positive shifts in both the self and the larger community.

Rooted in the belief that teaching is a learning profession, Leah is an avid student. She has completed teacher trainings and immersions with some of the top teachers in the yoga community including Amy Ippoliti and Anusara's founder John Friend. She is pursuing full Anusara certification so she continues to endeavor in training in the Anusara method. Ian Maxwell

Ian Maxwell
It seems that I've been on a contemplative path from birth. As a child, I preferred sitting in "time out" because it was quiet and could close my eyes. I started practicing yoga in 1996 as a refuge from what I thought were the unavoidable stresses of life. Through a yogic perspective, I quickly found out that these were stresses that I had set upon myself. I have not looked back since, spending long periods of time in Asia, Europe and the United States seeking. I was introduced to Anusara Yoga in 2006 and found a system that elegantly stated every truth that I had come to know in my life, as well as opening my eyes to new ones.

In the studio, I combine my experiences to teach a class filled with heart, alignment and a commitment to awakening. For good measure, I throw in a few bad jokes (only a few). It is my deep wish that students leave my classes empowered with a deeper understanding of their own divine nature.

Jeremy Wolf

Jeremy Wolf
Since childhood, he has pursued the growth and development of both mind and body in what started with a deep interest in the martial arts. After reaching a second degree black belt in Taekwondo, he went on to teach as an assistant and many years later found Capoeira where he trained and taught with the American Capoeira Association in Boulder/Denver, Colorado. His interest in the development of the self, led him to meditation, further opening the doors to yoga and healing. He began his study of various forms of yoga in 1998, later receiving his teaching certification in Nasik, India in classical yoga (the original 8-limb ashtanga practice as outlined by Patanjali). He is also a Reiki Master in the Mikao Usui tradition. His yoga and meditation classes seek to incorporate the holistic practice of yoga illuminating the transcendental element of yoga's deeply spiritual origin. His time off the mat is usually spent immersed in the beauty of the Rocky Mountains or in his musical passions of djing/producing ethnic-electronic music and the exploration of trance-dance as a method for healing, expression, and self-realization.

Beth Sanchez
Foremost in her aspiration is to serve students in a way that supports the experience of transformation from stress and suffering to deep well-being and insight. Beth's classes are deeply inspired by her primary teachers, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hahn, and Ayurveda Practitioner and Teacher, Alakananda Ma. She received her yoga teacher training certificate in 2000 from the Iyengar-inspired Shoshoni yoga center and her teaching style has been described as mindful vinyasa with a poetic touch. While she provides a format for the countless benefits of physical exercise, she prefers to offer a work-in rather than a work-out. She invites all people seeking meditative depth in their yoga practice and in their daily lives.

Jillian Wendt

Jillian Wendt
Jillian began practicing yoga in 2001 but it wasn't until after her daughter's birth and being on bed rest for 3 months, in 2005, that yoga truly took a hold of Jillian's life. She completed her yoga teachers training through Samadhi Center for Yoga under Tina Aisner-Porter and Karen Lerner and has also studied pre-natal yoga with Wendy Correa, yoga for children with Sydney Solis and Sanskrit for yogis with Dr. Katyayani Poole. As a certified yoga teacher, Jillian teaches vinyasa, prenatal and children's yoga. Jillian's greatest joy is sharing the gift of yoga with children and seeing them embrace the beautiful strength and peace that they hold inside of themselves. When not on her mat, practicing or teaching, Jillian enjoys spending time with her young daughter and husband, cooking and experimenting in the kitchen and reading and listening to music. Though yoga and the peace that comes from the practice and good food, Jillian knows that the world can change into a peaceful, loving and healthy world.

Having a strong faith in synchronicity and trusting her intuition she immediately signed up for the teacher training program. She believes that each adult is a child at heart, bringing a non-intimidating and light-hearted feel to each yoga class. Keeping her students safe with proper alignment, connecting with the breath, reducing stress, and finding the balance between strength and flexibility is what she believes to be the priorities of her class. Julie considers the breath to be the guiding force of the practice and reminds her students to link breath with movement to authentically establish a flowing meditation. You will take yourself seriously in her class but smiling and playing is encouraged. Julie teaches children yoga and is Reiki certified.

Jenna Melbye

Jenna Melbye
My practice was born 3 years ago when I moved to Denver and longed for something other than a gym routine! I feel very connected to my personal practice and feel that I am actively learning from my students, and well as my teachers, every time I enter my practice space. I enjoy being creative in the studio and I love to try new things, on and off the mat. I aim to create a space that allows everyone to explore their own unique connection to the physical body, and open the mind to the possibilities that unlock when you pair your life with asana. My curiosity for physical and mental strength still fuels my practice, and now my goal is to spread my love for this ever challenging expression of the free spirit! I completed the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training this past April and am so happy and honored to be teaching at this lovely studio. I show great respect for everyone who has encouraged me, and for all of my teachers who have filled me with knowledge and passion for the practice.

Elissa Hardy

Elissa Hardy
Elissa has been practicing yoga for over ten years. First coming to the mat for some extra stretching after running, she soon discovered that there was so much more to be obtained from yoga, and after moving to Denver in 2005, discovered who she is on a yoga mat. In April of 2009, Elissa completed the yoga teacher training at Samadhi Center for Yoga. She is a Reiki Master Teacher and has a Masters in Social Work. She teaches energy healing classes and manages two programs for a non-profit agency in the Denver area. Combining energy, asana, breath and positive thinking, she is passionate about guiding others in finding their path and showing people that everyone has the ability to achieve their goals as long as they believe in themselves.

love, love, love. Lately this is what I hear when I close my eyes and I know I have yoga to thank! Studying Kundalini Yoga has been like nothing else I have experienced. Aside from my undying gratitude, one thing stands out when I think about my Kundalini Yoga education - profound familiarity. I often feel I am slowly being reminded of knowledge that is buried inside of me. This knowledge is gently being unearthed by each breath, each meditation, each act of discipline and commitment. I feel blessed to be able to share the technology of Kundalini Yoga as a tool to access the deep wisdom we all possess.

I teach Breathwalk, Kundalini Yoga and yoga on horseback. The more I practice, the more I teach, the more I ride, the more I feel myself shifting to an intuitive, heart-centered place. I also see this shift happening in others. That is one of the profound joys of teaching yoga - holding a space for people to safely expand their awareness and being part of a community that is bringing light and love to the planet!

Erica Pilger

Erica Pilger
Erica's yoga practice began in 2002 when chronic back pain related to a car accident hindered her active lifestyle. Yoga quickly grew into a therapeutic practice to realign musculature, open new areas of the body and stop chronic pain. She believes that as the body begins to open and obtain proper alignment, the mind does the same, leaving the spirit soft and full of love. As a registered nurse, Erica has an excellent understanding of physical health. Her passion is to teach students the importance of physical, mental and emotional wellness. She has always been drawn to Anusara, Iyengar and Ashtanga styles of yoga, studying with many knowledgeable instructors such as John Friend and Richard Freeman. Erica received her yoga teacher certification at Samadhi Center for Yoga in 2008. Her instruction incorporates alignment principles and personal adjustments to safely deepen students' practice. The class uses principles of Raja yoga: combining postures, breathing techniques and traditional yogic philosophy to calm the mind and open the heart.

Angelique DeSilva

Angelique DeSilva
Angelique was born in Mexico where she spent most of her formative years climbing mango trees and playfully swerving the waves in the golden beaches of Acapulco. She moved to the US to complete high school and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and a minor in French from the Colorado College. Angelique was introduced to Yoga in 1990 by her college friend Karma, but it was not until 2003 that she would plunge into the practice.

In 2004, Alanna Kaivalya inspired Angelique to study with David Life and Sharon Gannon, co-founders of Jivamukti Yoga, as well as, with Manorama Thea D'Avila, director of Sanskrit Studies. She immersed herself in the practice and became a certified Jivamukti Yoga Instructor. Soon after, she followed Manorama on the path of Luminous Shabda. Angelique had the honor to apprentice with Alanna and was certified an Advanced Jivamukti Yoga Instructor in February 2008.

Angelique also studies with Iyengar Senior teachers Manuso Manos, Patricia Walden and with Swati and Rajiv Chanchani, as well as, with renowned local Iyengar teachers Nancy Stechart, Gary Rietze, and Leslie Bradley. The Iyengar method has further evinced the subtleties of Yoga Sadhana for her. Additionally, Angelique is a member of the Zen Center of Denver. Angelique's unique bi-cultural and bi-lingual upbringing engendered in her a strong affinity for learning languages and understanding other cultures. When she first listened to Manorama's pronunciation of Sanskrit, she knew she had to submerge herself into the sounds of Yoga. Angelique infuses her classes with the resonance of Sanskrit in the hopes of inspiring other practitioners to explore this language of integration.

Angelique's primary inspiration for teaching is to share the direct experience of Yoga with others, and to relay the insights passed on to her by her teachers which have brought her unequivocal balance, joy, and freedom. Their profound words and living example of the principles continue to kindle her personal practice, as well as, her teaching practice.
