So often I hear “Yoga’s not for me.  I can’t even touch my toes.”  My response?  Awesome!  I prefer that because it usually means your muscle integration is strong and you’ll be less likely to stretch too deep, which will keep you safe!  Flexibility will come with time.

The Building Blocks of Yoga is a 4 week series designed to help new students understand the how’s, the why’s and the when’s of yoga.

*How to do the pose with safe alignment for your body
*How to use simple mindful meditation both on and off your mat
*Why certain poses are cued one way by one teacher and another way by another:
*Why yoga is so freaking fantastic
*When to breathe, When to back away, When to deepen in.

Kristine Whittle Bio:
Kristine is an 500hr Registered Yoga Teacher and has been teaching yoga in the Denver area since 2003. Formerly a Certified Anusara Yoga instructor, she incorporates much of this methodology into her uniquely styled therapeutic and Restorative Yoga offerings. She is influenced heavily by her massage therapy training as well as the somatic practices she has explored over her many years as a dancer including kinesiology, release techniques, Body-Mind Centering, Alexander technique, Feldenkrais, and Pilates.

Kristine’s teaching style has been described as generouswell-informed,gentleencouraging, and compassionate. She aims to strike a balance between precise instruction and space for her students to breathe into and deeply enjoy their practice.
